I have spent my time the past few weeks getting back into making art. I've tried acrylic, charcoal, water mixable oils, pastels, colored pencil, etc. They have not all been successes, which can feel disheartening. But I am trying my best to keep in mind that making art, even if it's not very good, it better than not creating anything at all. One day I decided that I had enough, and ordered a book called “How to Draw What You See” by Rudy De Reyna. I have been working through many of the exercises, and it has helped me relearn the basics again I also recently ordered another book, entitled “The Laws Guide to Nature Drawing and Journaling” by John Muir Laws because I had found many of his tutorials on YouTube useful. Although I personally enjoy expressive and impressionist artwork the m...
I recently discovered the existence of watercolor markers, and decided to give them a try. I ordered a set and have been enjoying their quick and mess free nature. I am still learning to not add too many details, and to leave more white space. This is a hard habit of mine to break haha Have any of you tried watercolor markers? Have any tips? Comment below!
